Dear Diary is a short musical based on the real life diaries of Lydia Lewis. It will be performed on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 October as part of the New Stagers October Takeover. Rehearsals will mainly be on Sundays during October from 4pm to 6pm, with a rehearsal also on Tuesday 26 October from 8.15pm to 10.15pm.
Lydia, about to turn 30, finds her old diaries from when she was 10 years old. She reminisces about the hilarious mishaps of being on the precipice of puberty in the 00s, compared with the defining threshold of 30 in 2022. Sometimes you have to look back in order to move forward. The production will star its writers New Stagers Lydia Lewis and Rhonda Lidgold. They will be auditioning for a male actor to join the cast. Details of the role are below. The audition will take place at St Anne Hall at 8.15pm on Tuesday 13 September. Jack/Myles/Dad (Male, age 20-40) We are looking for someone with big physicality who can do a lot with just a few lines. This character will be many roles throughout. Needs to be able to bring a lot of humour while playing a moody heart throb, a socially conscious 10 year old and a classic awkward dad character. Musicality, movement and singing ability a plus. If you can play the guitar even better ( although not absolutely necessary). For more information/any questions please email: deardiarymusical@gmail.com
