From Wonderland to Salem: Our 2027 Line-Up!

We’re thrilled to lift the curtain on our 2027 season, a fantastic collection of plays chosen by you, for you!

A massive thank you to everyone who submitted a play. The passion in every single pitch was incredible, showing once again what makes New Stagers such a special group! Well done to all of our successful submissions; the voting was tight, but 2027 is shaping up to be an absolute bumper year packed with bangers!  

The four incredible shows coming to a stage (somewhere in London!) next year are:

	Jan '27 'Animal Farm' by George Orwell. Director: Molly Rose When the farm animals overthrow their tyrannical master, they dream of building a world where all animals are equal, happy, and free. But as power shifts into the hands of a new elite, Orwell’s timeless fable asks the ultimate question: what does equality really mean? Presented as a dark, dystopian, and stylised physical production with a heavy focus on non-human characterisation and modern utilitarian styling, this punchy drama will explore corruption and identity in a sharp new light.
	Apr '27 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland' by Lewis Carroll Directors: Liz Ashford, Richard Allport & Nellie Gawne Follow an anxious White Rabbit down the rabbit hole into a world where nothing is quite as it seems! Designed as a continuous, fast-paced, and beautifully theatrical journey, this imaginative adaptation moves seamlessly between the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, the Croquet Ground, and the Queen’s Court. Told through playful movement, creative lighting, and clever staging, this family-friendly fantasy will offer exciting opportunities for cast and crew alike—promising a rehearsal process that’s just as joyful as the performances themselves!
	Jul '27 'The History Boys' by Alan Bennett Director: Patrick McMahon Set in a 1980s British grammar school, Alan Bennett’s multi-award-winning comedy-drama follows a sharp, lively group of sixth-formers preparing for their Oxbridge entrance exams. Guided by three teachers with fiercely clashing educational philosophies—the eccentric Hector, tactical Irwin, and pragmatic Mrs Lintott—this actor-led ensemble piece balances razor-sharp wit with deep emotional warmth. It’s a hilarious, moving celebration of memory, learning, and the people who shape us.
	Oct '27 'The Crucible', by Arthur Miller Director: Courtney Bates Arthur Miller’s masterpiece remains one of the most chilling, gripping parables of deceit and mass hysteria ever written. Exploring the Puritan witch trials of 1690s Salem, the story follows a community consumed by suspicion after a young girl maliciously levies accusations of witchcraft. Courtney’s vision brings a stark, stripped-back staging with atmospheric lighting, minimalist set design, and immersive seating that draws the audience directly into the paranoia of the courtroom.
