Meet the Cast: 'And Then There Were None'

As we count down to opening night, we are thrilled to introduce the talented ensemble bringing Agatha Christie’s classic masterpiece to life on stage.

Ten strangers are invited to an isolated island off the Devon coast. Each carries a dark secret, and one by one, they begin to die according to a sinister nursery rhyme. Who is the murderer, and will anyone survive?

Meet the actors stepping into the shoes of Soldier Island's doomed guests:


Lara McMahon Vera Claythorne	Benjamin Ellis Justice Wargrave	Kate Horobin Dr Edith Armstrong
Lara is absolutely thrilled to be playing Vera Claythorne in this production. Having been with New Stagers for a year and a half, she is ready to sink her teeth into a lead role. She couldn’t be happier to be part of this wonderful cast of actors and hopes everyone enjoys the show!	Ben is a massive fan of Judge Judy, so he leapt at the role of Justice Wargrave, especially as he gets to look at far more serious crimes than "my flatmate stole my spider plant". In 30+ years in New Stagers, Ben has played numerous roles from Polonius in "Hamlet" to an orangutan/Librarian in Terry Pratchett's "Guards! Guards!". Ben has enjoyed pontificating as Wargrave in Agatha Christie's masterpiece, as his wife and two teenage children rarely take him seriously.	Kate is delighted to be taking part in her first show with New Stagers. Having studied music and drama at university, a brief stint at the Edinburgh Fringe festival in 2025 and a move to London last September, she is happy to be back in the swing of things and doing it all amongst a fantastic group of people. She hopes to bring a fresh perspective to the role of Armstrong, although oftentimes the panic that you'll see onstage isn't too far off her natural state anyway.

This is Shaun's first production with New Stagers, after a hiatus from acting since university (which is starting to become a distressingly long time ago). In the interim, Shaun has pursued a career in maths teaching, as the one problem he found with theatre is that the audience could choose to leave. Shaun has thoroughly enjoyed the role of William Blore, as it allows him to shout a lot.	Having previously appeared as Scrooge in ‘A Christmas Carol’, Jacob is delighted to once again be playing an old man in a New Stagers production.	Vanessa has been acting since she was little. She joined the New Stagers in 2003 and notable roles include: Madam Arcati in Blythe Spirit, Helen in Ghosts, Judith Bliss in Hayfever, Mrs Wilberforce in Lady Killers and Mavis in Stepping Out. This winter you can catch Vanessa in her third small movie role in ‘Christmas on Camera’.

Will has been involved with New Stagers since 2025, where he completed an improv comedy show and performed at the Edinburgh Fringe in a reality TV-inspired mashup of A Midsummer Night's Dream. More recently, he has played both a weasel and a washerwoman in Wind in the Willows. He is now looking forward to playing the role of Rogers and working out where the man ends, and the butler begins…		Having performed in this terrific play when he was at school, Joe couldn't resist the chance to join the New Stagers in this production. Following a few years in the wilderness, he is particularly pleased to be returning to the stage in the wizard role of Anthony Marston.
