Our recent production of Martin McDonagh's intense and thought-provoking play, 'The Pillowman,' has received a fantastic review from NODA (the National Operatic & Dramatic Association), and we couldn't be prouder.
The report, penned by Matt Bentley, highlighted that taking on 'The Pillowman' and its demanding material was a "gamble" for the group, but one that "well and truly paid off"!
"This was a superb addition to what has already been an outstanding year for the New Stagers. The technical elements appeared simple at the outset, but this proved to be a deception which grew into a more complex, audiovisual experience as the show progressed, drawing the audience ever deeper into the unsettling world of the play. The creative choices made by the production team, combined with the cast’s evident commitment, resulted in a performance that was both challenging and rewarding for all involved. It is clear that the New Stagers are unafraid to tackle demanding material and have the skill and cohesion necessary to bring such work to life." - NODA
